Legal notice

Les Yeux du Daltonisme is a personal blog about color perception. It is neither a business nor a medical service, and it sells nothing.

Courtesy translation of the French legal notice. In case of any difference, the French version prevails.

Site publisher

The site is published by Nicolas, in a personal and non-professional capacity. In accordance with Article 6, III, 2 of the French law for trust in the digital economy (LCEN), a non-professional publisher may choose not to publish their full contact details, provided they have given them to their host, who keeps them available to the authorities.

Publication director: Nicolas. For any request, including a request to remove content, use the contact page.

Host

OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France. Phone: 1007. Website: ovhcloud.com.

Technical services

Two features of the site rely on Cloudflare Workers and the Cloudflare D1 database (Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States): sending the contact form, and the anonymous recording of Chameleon test results. The form's email is delivered by Resend (Plus Cognition Labs Inc.). Fonts are hosted on the site itself, with no call to a third-party service. Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures the site's traffic (see "Traffic measurement").

Personal data

The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers.

Traffic measurement

To know which pages are read, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. The service measures the pages viewed, where the visit came from (another site or a search engine), the country, the type of device, the browser and loading times, as aggregated statistics. According to Cloudflare, it uses no cookies or local storage, and doesn't try to recognize a visitor from one page to the next based on their IP address or browser. As with any web request, Cloudflare receives your IP address for the duration of the request.

You can object by blocking this script with a browser extension: the site works exactly the same.

Contact form

The information you send (optional first name or nickname, email address, message) is used only to reply to you. It arrives in an email inbox, is neither resold nor passed on to a third party, and is kept for the duration of the exchange and then deleted. Legal basis: your consent, given by sending the message.

Test du caméléon

At the end of the test, you can share your result anonymously to help understand color vision. This sharing has no commercial purpose and can be declined with a button before sending.

What is saved in that case:

What is never saved with your result: your IP address, a device identifier, a cookie, an account, your name or your email address. These results can't be traced back to you. A technical fingerprint derived from the IP address is computed in memory, just long enough to limit automated submissions, and is not kept in the database.

From your result page, you can go back on your sharing and delete your result. After two days, the entry can no longer be modified from the site.

Ishihara test, simulator and calculator

These three tools run entirely in your browser. Apart from the traffic measurement described above, nothing is sent anywhere, in particular the photos and camera feed used by the simulator, which never leave your device.

Your rights

You have a right of access, rectification and deletion over the data that concerns you. For the contact form, write to me via the contact page. Since test results are anonymous, they can't be linked to a person: use the delete button on your result page. In case of disagreement, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.

Intellectual property

The texts, diagrams and code of this site are the work of its author. You may quote excerpts by indicating the source and a link to the original page. Full reproduction requires prior agreement.

The plates reproduced in the articles and in the test come from old editions of the Ishihara test, published here for educational purposes. If you hold rights over any of the images on the site, let me know and it will be removed without discussion.

Disclaimer

The tests and the content of this site are informational. They are not a diagnosis and do not replace an exam with an orthoptist or an ophthalmologist. The results depend on your screen settings and your lighting conditions.
